View planning workbench and planning detail

Part 1: View the workbench
1. Click the Open icon on the toolbar. The Select Form dialog box opens.
2. Type material planner in the Filter field.
3. Click the Material Planner Workbench list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Material Planner Workbench form opens.
5. Verify the View field displays Purchase Order. Your PLNs display in the grid.
Note: If no records display, you will need to generate the workbench again.
6. Right click any column header in the grid. A menu displays.
7. Click the Edit Grid Columns… menu item. The Edit Grid Column Visibility and Order dialog 
box opens.
8. Click the Exception Message list item in the Caption column. 
Note: You may need to scroll down the list.
9. Click the Up button until the Exception Message list item displays below the Due Date list item.
10. Click the OK button. The Exception Message grid column now displays after the Due Date grid 
column.
11. Click to select the All Orders radio button. The grid displays the purchased parts required for the 
customer orders of DCBT-100, including DCBTH-75, DCBTH-100, and DCBTW-100. 
Note: If any of the POs must be expedited to meet the customer order due date, the message 
“Expedited [X] Days” displays in the Exception Message column. This indicates that you must 
take action to expedite the PO.
If there is no message in the Exception Message field in this exercise, you may 
need to run the APS Resync All utility. See Appendix D: Running APS for more 
information.
Part 2: View planning detail 
1. Click the Planning Detail button. The Planning Detail (Linked) form refreshes with all planning 
records for your item.
2. Click the View drop-down arrow on the menu bar.
3. Click the Hide/Show 2nd Splitter Pane list item. The grid view of the form displays.
4. Scroll right to view additional columns. Note that the Reference column identifies the planning 
record type as PLN and the Exception Messages column displays Expedited [X] Days for any 
PLNs that must be expedited.
5. Click the Window drop-down arrow on the menu bar.
6. Click the Close All list item
