Avalara Sales Tax Calculation Returns $0
Here is a list of items to verify when trying to figure out why the sales tax calculation returns $0:
- The Customer does not have “Use Avatax” checked in Customer Maintenance
- The Customer has ‘Tax Exempt’ checked. If the item(s) is shipping to an alternate address, then the alternate address has ‘Tax Exempt’ checked
- The State / Province that the item(s) is shipping to is not in the list of Nexus states in the Tax Configuration macro in Customer Maintenance (including alternate shipping address(es))
- The state / province is not configured as a jurisdiction in the Avalara Admin Console
