Part 1: Adding a user to a group
1. Type sa in the User Name field of the Infor Sign In window.
2. Leave the Password field blank.
3. Click the Configuration drop-down arrow.
4. Click the EDU1_DALS list item.
5. Click the Sign In button to log in to the new system configuration. The Syteline (EDU1)
application window opens.
6. Click to open the Groups form.
7. Click the Filter In Place item.
8. Click to select the Order Entry group in the left pane.
9. Click in the first row of the User ID field.
10. Click to create a new object.
11. Click the User ID drop-down arrow.
12. Click the [your user ID] list item.
13. Click to Save modified data.
14. Click to open the Users form.
15. Click the Filter In Place item.
16. Click to select [your user ID] in the left pane. The Order Entry group to which you just added
yourself now appears on the Groups tab.
17. Click to clear the Super User check box.
18. Click the Save button.
Part 2: Adding group authorizations for a user
1. Click to open the Groups form.
2. Click to select the Order Entry group.
3. Click the Group Authorizations item. The Object Authorization for Group (Linked) form
opens.
4. Click Get more rows in the current collection.
5. Click to select the Pricing row.
6. Click the Not Granted list item for each of the following columns to revoke privileges for this
object:
• Delete privilege
• Edit privilege
• Insert privilege
• Update privilege
• Bulk update privilege
7. Click the Save modified data item.
8. Click the OK button to close the form.
9. Click User Authorizations. The Object Authorizations for User (Linked) form opens.
10. Click the Object Name drop-down arrow.
11. Click the Pricing list item.
12. Click the Granted option for all privileges for the Pricing object.
13. Click the Save modified data button.
14. Click the OK button to close the form.
15. Click the Sign out button to sign out of Syteline.
Part 3: Log back in to the system and confirm the authorizations set in the previous part
1. Type [your user ID] in the User Name field.
2. Type [your password] in the Password field.
3. Click the Sign In button. The Syteline (EDU1) application window opens.
4. Click to open the Pricing form.
5. Click the OK button. The Pricing form opens.
6. Click the Customer drop-down arrow.
7. Click the 1 Coordinated Bicycles list item.
8. Click the Item drop-down arrow.
9. Click the FA-10000 Bicycle, Model-30,26” list item.
10. Click Pricing. The pricing data on the form is updated.
Note: Although you revoked most of the privileges for the pricing object for the order entry group,
those privileges were granted for you as an individual user. Because user authorizations override
group authorizations, you were able to update the prices on the Pricing form.
11. Click the Save modified data button.
12. Click the OK button to close the form.
13. Click the Sign out button to sign out of Syteline
