Part 1: Specifying Kanban prefixes
1. Open the Type Kanban Setup form.
2. Verify R is in the Request Prefix field. If not, type it.
3. Verify K in the Kanban Prefix field. If not, type it.
4. Click Save, if changes were made.
Part 2: Managing Kanban warehouses
1. Select System > Form > Open. The Select Form form displays.
2. Type Kanban Warehouses in the All containing field.
3. Click OK. The Kanban Warehouses (Filter In Place) form displays.
4. Click Filter In Place to turn off the filter-in-place.
5. Select MAIN from the grid on the left.
6. Select BIKE 10 from the Staging Location drop-down list.
7. Verify the Allow Qty Chg check box is selected. If not, select it.
8. Verify the Active check box is selected. If not, select it.
9. Click Save.
Part 3: Managing Kanban items
1. Open the Kanban Items form.
2. Click Filter In Place.
3. Add a New item.
4. Type ZAL-300 in the Item field.
5. Type 40 in the Kanban Qty field.
6. Verify Inventory is selected in the Replenishment Source drop-down list. If not, select it.
7. Verify the Active check box is selected. If not, select it.
8. Click Save.
Part 4: Managing Kanban locations
1. Open the Kanban form.
2. Type KLOC01 in the Kanban Location field.
3. Select BIKE 10 from the SyteLine Location drop-down list..
4. Click Save.
Part 5: Defining a location and replenishment cycle details for a Kanban item-location
combination
1. Open the Kanban Item Locations form.
2. Click Filter In Place.
3. Click Add.
4. Type ZAL-300 in the Item field.
5. Select Main from the Warehouse drop-down list.
6. Select KLOC01 from the Kanban Location drop-down list. A message displays, “Item Stockroom
Location that has [Whse: MAIN] and [Item: ZAL-300] and [Location: BIKE10] does not exist. [Add]
will be performed for Item Stockroom Location.”
7. Click OK.
8. Select the Active check box.
9. Type 6 in the Max Number of Kanbans field.
10. Verify 1 is in the Order Trigger Point field. If not, type it.
11. Verify Inventory is selected from the Kanban Source drop-down list. If not, select it.
12. Click Save.
Part 6: Creating Kanbans
1. Confirm ZAL-300 is selected from the grid on the left. If not, select it.
2. Click Generate Kanban(s). A message displays, “6 Kanban(s) were processed.”
3. Click OK.
4. Write down the Kanban numbers listed under the Kanban section.

Part 7: Printing Kanban labels
1. Open the Kanban Labels form.
2. Select <the first Kanban in the list from Part 6, Step 4 above> from the Kanban Starting
drop-down list.
3. Select <the last Kanban in the list from Part 6, Step 4 above> in the Kanban Ending field.
4. Select TranPrinter from the Printer drop-down list.
5. Verify 1 is in the Number of Labels field. If not, type it.
6. Click the printer icon. A message displays, “Do you want to print labels?”
7. Click OK. A message displays, “[Kanban Label Printing] was successful.”
8. Click OK.
9. Click Close to close the Kanban Label Printing form
