Create a prospect

Part 1: Enter the prospect information
1. Click the Open icon.
2. Type prospects in the Filter field.
3. Click the Prospects list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Prospects (Filter in Place) form opens.
5. Click the Filter in Place icon.
6. Click the New icon.
7. Type [your initials]? in the Prospect field.
8. Type Astro Sports in the Company field.
9. Type 19955 Detroit Rd in the Address (1) field.
10. Type Cleveland in the City field.
11. Click the Prov/State drop-down arrow.
12. Click the OH list item.
13. Type 44116 in the Postal/ZIP field.
14. Click the Territory drop-down arrow.
15. Click the MW list item.
16. Click the Sales Team drop-down arrow.
17. Click the West list item.
18. Click the Salesperson drop-down arrow.
19. Click the BJS list item.
20. Type 216-356-5900 in the Phone field.
21. Type 1,000,000 in the Company Revenue field.
22. Type 97 in the Number of Employees field.
23. Click the Save icon.
24. Write down your Prospect number _________________.
Part 2: Add the sales contact and cross-reference the sales contact to the prospect
1. Click the Ellipsis (…).
2. Click the Sales Contact X-Refs button. The Prospect Sales Contact Cross References 
(Linked) form opens.
1. Right-click in the Contact field. The shortcut menu opens.
2. Click the Add list item. The Sales Contacts (Find) form opens.
3. Type Buyer in the Job Title field.
4. Type Jenkins in the Last Name field.
5. Type Verna in the First Name field.
6. Type Astro Sports in the Company field.
7. Type 19955 Detroit Rd in the Address (1) field.
8. Type Cleveland in the City field.
9. Click the Prov/State drop-down list.
10. Click the OH list item.
11. Type 44116 in the Postal/ZIP field.
12. Type 216-356-5900 in the Office Phone field.
13. Type 216-232-5672 in the Mobile Phone field.
14. Type vjenkins@astrosports.com in the Email field.
15. Click the Preferences tab. 
16. Click the OK To Send Promotion check box.
17. Click the OK To Send Other Communication check box.
18. Click the OK To Call check box.
19. Click the OK To Send Mail check box.
20. Click the OK To Send Email check box.
21. Click the Communication Preference drop-down arrow.
22. Click the Email list item.
23. Click the Save icon.
24. Write down your sales contact number ________________.
25. Click the Close (X) button on the Sales Contacts (Find) form. A dialog box opens with the 
message, “Do you want to return XXX for Add for Contact to form Prospect Sales Contact Cross 
References?”
26. Click the Yes button.
27. Click the Save icon.
28. Click the Close (X) button on the Prospect Sales Contact Cross References (Linked) form. 
You are returned to the Prospects form.
29. Click the Sales Contacts tab.
30. Verify that Jenkins, Verna displays as a sales contact.
31. Leave the Prospects form open.
Part 3: Document your conversation with your sales contact, Verna Jenkins 
1. Click the Interactions button. The Prospect Interactions (Linked) form opens.
2. Type New racing bike product line in the Description field to the right of the Interaction field.
3. Click the Topic drop-down arrow.
4. Click the Follow-up list item.
5. Verify the Status field displays Active.
6. Verify [today’s date] is in the Interaction Date field. Note: The current date displays by default.
7. Click the calendar icon in the Follow-Up Date field. A calendar displays with the current month 
and year visible.
8. Click the [date one day from today] option. The Follow-up Date field populates.
9. Click the Incoming check box in the Contacts grid section. 
Note: The system populates the Contact Date and Entry Name fields by default.
10. Click the Type drop-down arrow.
11. Click the Email list item.
12. Type Received an email from Verna Jenkins at Astro Sports. She saw our promotion of the new 
racing bikes and she would like to see a demo of the SPEED-12000 and SPEED-13000. I have 
set up a personalized demonstration for tomorrow. in the Message field.
13. Click the Save icon.
14. Click the Close (X) button on the Prospect Interactions (Linked) form.
15. Click the Interactions tab.
16. Verify the interaction you created displays.
Part 4: Link the prospect to the lead
1. Click the Open icon.
2. Type leads in the Filter field.
3. Click the Leads list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Leads (Filter in Place) form opens.
5. Type [your lead number] in the Leads field.
6. Click the Filter in Place icon.
7. Click the Prospect drop-down arrow.
8. Click the [your prospect number] list item.
9. Click the Save icon.
10. Click the Prospects tab on the Menu bar.
11. Click the Actions drop-down arrow.
12. Click the Refresh current list item.
13. Click the Leads tab.
14. Verify the lead information displays.
15. Click the Window drop-down arrow.
16. Click the Close All list item
