Post depreciation

Part 1: Post depreciation for the corporate jet
1. Click the Open icon. The Select Form dialog box opens.
2. Type fixed asset d in the Filter field.
3. Click the Fixed Asset Depreciation Posting list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Fixed Asset Depreciation Posting form opens.
5. Click the calendar icon in the Distribution Date field. A calendar displays with the current month 
and year visible. 
6. Click the [first day of the current month] option. The Distribution Date field populates.
7. Click the Process button. A dialog box opens with the message: “F/A Depreciation(s) will be 
printed before posting.”
8. Click the OK button. The Fixed Asset Current Depreciation Report (Modal) form opens. 
9. Click the Preview button. The Fixed Asset Current Depreciation Report opens in a new tab.
10. Close the Report viewer.
11. Click the Close (X) button on the Fixed Asset Current Depreciation Report (Modal) form. A 
dialog box opens with the message: “Do you want to return an OK response to form Fixed Asset 
Depreciation Posting?”
12. Click the Yes button. A dialog box opens with the message: “[Fixed Asset Depreciation Posting] 
will be performed.”
13. Click the OK button. A dialog box opens with the message: “1 F/A Depreciation(s) were posted. 0 
F/A Depreciation(s) contained error(s).”
14. Click the OK button.
15. Click the Close (X) button on the Fixed Asset Depreciation Posting form.
Part 2: View the results on the fixed asset record
1. Click the Form drop-down arrow.
2. Click the Fixed Asset Depreciation list item. The Fixed Asset Depreciation (Filter in Place)
form opens.
3. Type [your initials]* in the Asset Number field.
4. Click the Asset Number drop-down arrow.
5. Click the [your asset number] list item.
6. Click the Filter in Place icon. The record for asset [your initials]-J23478 opens.
Note: the number of units depreciated, accumulated depreciation, and YTD depreciation values,
and the Last Post Date field.
7. Click the Close (X) button on the Fixed Asset Depreciation form.
Part 3: View the FA Dist journal
1. Click the Open icon. The Select Form dialog box opens.
2. Type journal entries in the Filter field.
3. Click the Journal Entries list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Journal Entries (Filter in Place) form opens.
5. Click the Journal drop-arrow.
6. Click the FA Dist list item.
7. Click the Filter in Place icon.
8. Review the depreciation expense and accumulated depreciation posted for your fixed asset.
9. Click the Close (X) button on the Journal Entries form
