Set up serial number tracking for an item

Part 1: Select Lot Track and S/N Track for [your initials]-SL-10000
1. Click the Open icon on the toolbar. The Select Form dialog box opens.
2. Type items in the Filter field.
3. Click the Items list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Items (Filter in Place) form opens.
5. Type [your initials]* in the Item field.
6. Click the Item drop-down arrow.
7. Click the [your initials]-SL-10000 list item.
8. Click the Filter in Place button.
9. Click the Controls menu option.
10. Click to select the Lot Track check box.
11. Verify Lot – Lot Number is selected in the Issue By field.
12. Click to select the S/N Track check box. 
Note: Notice the S/N Prefix field displays the prefix you defined on the Inventory Parameters 
form.
13. Type 90 in the Shelf Life field.
14. Click the Save button.
15. Click the X on the Items form. 
Part 2: Perform a Miscellaneous Receipt
1. Click the Open icon on the toolbar.
2. Type misc in the Filter field.
3. Click the Miscellaneous Receipt list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Miscellaneous Receipt form opens.
5. Type [your initials]* in the Item field.
6. Click the Item drop-down arrow.
7. Click the [your initials]-SL-10000 list item.
8. Type 50 in the Quantity field.
9. Type 2.00 in the Material Cost field.
10. Verify [your initials]-A1-S1 is selected in the Location field.
11. Verify the [automatically generated] Lot Number displays in the Lot field.
12. Click the Reason drop-down arrow.
13. Click the MMR list item. The Receive button is not activated because you do not have 50 serial 
numbers yet.
14. Click the Serial Numbers menu. Notice the Target Qty is 50 and the Generate Qty is 50. You 
will need to create 50 serial numbers, one for each item received into stock.
15. Click the Generate Serial button to generate and display the 50 serial numbers. All serial 
numbers are selected by default and the Selected Qty is now 50.
16. Click the Receive button. An Add Lot dialog box opens. This allows you to enter a Manufactured 
Date, Expiration Date, and Transaction Restriction Code.
17. Click the OK button. A dialog box opens with the message, “[Miscellaneous Receipt] was 
successful.”
18. Click the OK button.
19. Click the X on the Miscellaneous Receipt form.
Part 3: View Serial Numbers for the TC-11000
1. Click the Open icon on the toolbar.
2. Type serial num in the Filter field.
3. Click the Serial Numbers list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Serial Numbers (Filter in Place) form opens.
5. Type tc* in the Item field.
6. Click the Item drop-down arrow.
7. Click the TC-11000 list item.
Note: This is not the item you set up for serial number tracking at the beginning of this exercise. 
Instead, you will view an item with more transaction history to provide a better understanding of 
how serial number-tracked information displays.
8. Click the Filter in Place icon.
9. Click the Serial Source tab.
10. Click the plus sign (+) to expand the Serial Source tree.
11. View the serial source transactions for this item and serial number. The transactions are listed 
from oldest to newest.
12. Click the Serial Destination tab to view the trace forwards.
13. Click the plus sign (+) to expand the Serial Destination tree.
14. View the serial destination transactions for this item and serial number.
15. Click the General tab. Note: the Source Ref is purchase order DP00000060 and the item was 
issued from inventory to job DJ00000134.
16. Click the X on the Serial Numbers form
