Setup serial number definition

1. Click the Open icon on the toolbar.
2. Type inventory par in the Filter field.
3. Click the Inventory Parameters list item.
4. Click the OK button. The Inventory Parameters form opens.
5. Click the Control menu option.
6. Click the S/N Definition button. The Prefix Definition (Modal) form opens allowing you to set 
the S/N Prefix to DDMMYYYY-RefType-RefNumber-.
7. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
8. Click the Day list item for line 1.
9. Click the New icon.
10. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
11. Click the Month list item for line 2.
12. Click the New icon.
13. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
14. Click the Year - YYYY list item for line 3.
15. Click the New icon.
16. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
17. Click the Constant list item for line 4.
18. Type - (a hyphen) in the Segment Placeholder Value field for line 4.
19. Click the New icon.
20. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
21. Click the Ref Type list item for line 5.
22. Click the New icon.
23. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
24. Click the Constant list item for line 6.
25. Type - (a hyphen) in the Segment Placeholder Value field for line 6.
26. Click the New icon.
27. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
28. Click the Ref Num list item for line 7.
29. Click the New icon.
30. Click the Segment Value drop-down arrow.
31. Click the Constant list item for line 8.
32. Type - (a hyphen) in the Segment Placeholder Value field for line 8.
You can include as many segments as you need in the prefix. However, the serial number 
length is limited to 30 characters. If you specify a prefix that could be greater than or equal to 
the limit, you receive a warning.
33. Click the OK button. The Prefix Definition (Modal) form closes, and you are returned to the 
Inventory Parameters form. The full prefix (using placeholders) is displayed in the S/N Prefix 
field.
34. Click the Save icon. A dialog box opens with the message, “Product Configuration has been
changed. [Login] should be performed.”
Click the OK button. It is not necessary for this exercise for you to log out.
35. Click the X on the Inventory Parameters form
